Guinevere is an ardent believer in the ability of individuals and communities to take action and ownership to make positive change.
A lifelong gardener and environmentalist, she is passionate about finding the funding and strategic partnerships necessary to support transformational activities on the community level.
Guinevere got her start in the world of non-profit fundraising as program staffer for the WestWind Foundation, a small family foundation that funds regional organizations working in the Southeast U.S. to combat climate change and fossil fuel-related pollution. Her experience in environmental grantmaking was instrumental in her efforts to help found and fund Charlottesville, VA's thriving school garden program, City Schoolyard Garden.
In addition to her non-profit work experience, Guinevere has taught environmental studies; served as a community educator and consultant on the benefits of growing organic, edible gardens; and managed a small, organic farm.
